Kenneth John Olson Sr., 50, of the Town of Pelican, passed away on Friday, September 25, 2026, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
Ken was born in Wausau, on August 17, 1976, to Thomas R. and Susan D. (Webie) Olson. He was raised in Tomahawk, where he attended their public schools. He later attended D.C. Everest High School in Wausau. Ken moved to Rhinelander in 1992. He was employed from 2006 until 2025 when he had to retire due to illness. During this time, he was employed at Hardee’s as a shift leader and general manager. He was united in marriage on May 14, 2004, to Gloria Ann Granger.
Ken was Lutheran by faith.
He was a past member of a pool and dart league. He enjoyed spending time on the computer, going swimming, the outdoors, and was an avid Chicago Bear’s Fan. But most of all Ken loved his family and enjoyed being with them, especially his grandchildren.
Surviving is his wife, Gloria, three children, Shawna (Devin) Ellis, Mary Bailey (fiancée, Cole Smart), Kenneth Olson Jr. (fiancé, Mya Renn), two grandchildren, Tristan Bailey and Liam Ellis, brother, Roger Olson, and stepfather, Dennis Wolf. Also surviving are other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Thomas Olson, mother, Susan Wolf, one brother, Tom Olson.
A Celebration of Ken’s Life will take place on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at the AmericInn, located at 648 Kemp Street, from 12:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
