Wisconsin voters will face three constitutional amendment questions on the November 3, 2026, ballot. The League of Women Voters of the Northwoods will host a community conversation from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 8 to help voters understand what the proposed amendments would change and what those changes could mean for Wisconsin communities.
According to a LWVNOW press release, the program will explore how the amendments could affect public education, public health, employment, government programs and contracting across the state.
“While ballot questions may appear straightforward, understanding a constitutional amendment requires looking beyond the wording of the question itself,” the release states. “The community conversation will provide background on each amendment, explain the issues that led to the questions being placed on the ballot, and discuss the potential implications if voters approve them.”
“Constitutional amendments deserve careful consideration because they become part of the state constitution if approved by voters,” said Debra Durchslag, president of the League of Women Voters of the Northwoods. “They are very different from passing new legislation. Our goal is to give people the information and context they need to understand what they will see on their ballot.”
The Executive Director of the League of Women Voters of Wisconsin, Debra Cronmiller, will provide the program with information presented in a nonpartisan, educational format. Attendees will have an opportunity to learn more about the amendments and ask questions.
The event will be held at ArtStart (68 S. Stevens St.) in Rhinelander and will feature Debra Cronmiller, Executive Director of the League of Women Voters of Wisconsin. The program is free and open to the public.
