Renee Marie (Jolin) Mutter

Posted

March 30, 1957 - February 5, 2026

Renee Marie (Jolin) Mutter, age 68, of Wabeno, WI passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving husband of 50 years and family members.

Renee’s heart was in the outdoors and animals. She found a kind of peace there that was uniquely her own-a quiet soul whose greatest excitement often came not from people, but from the animals around her. Horses, cats, and dogs all held a place in her world. She had a lifelong fascination and affection for animals of every kind, and she had an uncanny habit of finding those that needed a home. They were not merely pets, they were family.

Over her lifetime, Renee and her husband bred horses, cats, and many different dog breeds. Eventually she found the breed that would become her greatest passion: the Giant Schnauzer. They earned multiple awards and top honors. They made many friends in the dog world.

Their influence eventually extended far beyond Wisconsin. They established and nurtured breeding club networks reaching throughout the United States and across the world. Through those connections, Renee shared knowledge, built friendships, and helped bring together people who shared their passion for the Giant Schnauzer. Her legacy within the breed lives on throughout those relationships and through the dogs whose lives were shaped by her dedication.

Renee is survived by her husband John Mutter and their two children Raymond S. Mutter and Jill Krieger, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, brother Gary Jolin (Judy) of Pickett, WI, sister Bonnie Blickem of Albuquerque, NM and brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews, along with extended family and friends whose lives she touched in her own quiet way.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Jolin and Ethel (Blakely) Jolin, and brothers Gale Jolin and William Jolin.

To honor Renee’s wishes there will not be a funeral or memorial service.

Thank you to all family and friends for your well wishes and condolences. She will be missed.

In memory of Renee, we ask you donate to your local Humane Society.
