Vilas County collision victims identified

Vilas County Sheriff Joseph Fath has released the names of the two women who were killed Wednesday, the result of a two-vehicle collision on Hwy. 70 just east of Shady Lane in the township of Cloverland.
Killed were 57-year old Linda Healy of St. Germain and 78-year old Lillian Pulec of Eagle River.
According to the Vilas County Sheriff’s Office, the preliminary investigation indicates that the west-bound vehicle, driven by Healy, crossed the center line and struck an east-bound vehicle head on that was occupied by a husband and wife (Pulec). The accident remains under investigation.
Eagle River Fire Department, Eagle River Ambulance from Eagle River Memorial Hospital, Plum Lake Ambulance, St. Germain Fire and Rescue, Spirit Helicopter, Vilas County Highway Department, Vilas County Coroner’s office and the Vilas County Sheriff’s Office responded to the accident.
