Eight members of the Rhinelander area and other communities continued the 9/11 (Patriot Day) observances during a day of service held at the Northwoods National Cemetery in Harshaw, Wis. Saturday (Sept. 12, 2026). The local and nationwide event pays tribute to those killed during the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attack on the Twin Towers in New York City. The volunteers cleaned Veterans’ headstones, replaced wilted flowers and pulled weeds on the cemetery grounds.
