Thursday, Jan. 17

Alzheimer’s Caregivers’ Support Group: 1-2:30 third Thursday of the month at the Oneida County Senior Center. Sponsored by Greater Wisc. chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association. Anyone with a loved one with any kind of memory loss is welcome. Respite care is available to those attending, with two days’ notice. 715-369-6304.
Coffee Klatch with Scott Foster: 8:30 a.m. Eagle River Roasters in Eagle River. Join Northland Pines District Administrator Scott Foster for coffee and conversation regarding the school district or public education in general. Citizens are encouraged to voice opinions and ask questions.
No-School Special: 2:30-4 p.m., Popcorn and a Movie at the Rhinelander District Library. Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween (PG) will be shown. Enjoy freshly popped popcorn. For information, 715-365-1070.
Parent/Tot Time: 10 a.m., Thursdays, Rhinelander District Library. Twenty-minute program for ages two to three-and-a-half accompanied by an adult. Also Story Time at 10 a.m., Thursdays, Rhinelander District Library. A 40-minute program for ages three-and-a-half to six. Friday, Jan. 18

Friday Night FUNdnight: 5-8 p.m., at CT’s Deli, downtown Rhinelander. Fundraiser for Northwoods Alliance for Temporary Housing. CT’s will donate 50 percent of bar sales and all tips.
No-School Special: 2-2:45 p.m., Rhinelander District Library. Staff from Trees for Tomorrow will present “Reptiles and Amphibians,” featuring live critters. For children in kindergarten and older. For more information, call 715-365-1070 ext. 1073.

Saturday, Jan. 19

Family Zone at the Y: 2-5 p.m., YMCA of the Northwoods, Rhinelander. Strengthening family bonds, creating lasting memories. Trading Card Games: 3:30-5 p.m., Rhinelander District Library. Open play for teens to play Pokemon, Magic and Yu-gi-oh! and others, the first Wednesday and third Monday of each month. New and seasoned gamers, ages 11-18, welcome. Bring your own deck; no trading or selling allowed. Pizza and drinks provided. 715-365-1070.
Tabletop Gaming: 5:30-8 p.m., Rhinelander District Library. All new and seasoned gamers welcome. A large variety of tabletop and strategy games will be provided,or bring your own. Northwoods Volunteer Fair: 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Rhinelander Trig’s Riverwalk. Get connected with non-profit organizations and learn how to make a difference through volunteering. Enchanted Doll Club of the Northwoods: 1 p.m., Walter E. Olson Memorial Library in Eagle River. New program format this year. Program, “Sewn in America: Dolls and their Patterns,” will be followed by refreshments, then open forum on any topic related to dolls, such as club members’ sewing projects, doll news. Hot Chocolate Snow Bash: 5:30 p.m. at the YMCA of the Northwoods. Hot chocolate and cookie social, live entertainment from TuneSmith Academy, family-themed raffle baskets, crafts and games.
