To celebrate “Giving Tuesday 2018,” Kohl’s initiated a first-time $10,000 grant to be given to 300 nonprofits throughout the country who improve the health and wellness of children and families.
Rhinelander Kohl’s store manager, Jayne Boebel, nominated the YMCA of the Northwoods and they were selected.
“The YMCA is grateful for the ongoing generosity of our local Kohl’s and its team,” said Ryan Zietlow, CEO of the YMCA of the Northwoods. “The YMCA has a strong focus on youth development and healthy living. With this grant from Kohl’s we will be able to invest these dollars to make a stronger impact on those in our neighborhoods.
“We understand that a healthy community starts with healthy children and families, and our YMCA family is committed to strengthening the foundations of our community.”
The Rhinelander Kohl’s associates have volunteered at 23 events throughout the community this past year. When five or more volunteer for community events for three hours each, the nonprofit also receives a matching grant for $500. Kohl’s has distributed $14,000 to 14 different area non-profits in 2018.
