SDR’s Maney receives award from state education group

A School District of Rhinelander administrator has been recognized for her efforts in “moving the School District of Rhinelander forward.”
Teri Maney, the district’s director of instruction received the Wisconsin Instructional Leader of the Year award from the Wisconsin Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development.
According to the organization’s executive services manager, Joanna Pheifer, “when Teri sees a need for change, she will do whatever is required to make the change a reality. She gracefully handles difficult conversations and situations while promoting the good in each educator…(and) has a keen eye and uses superior active listening skills to take a pulse on everyone and in every environment.”
Maney has been a teacher, principal and director of instruction in the Rhinelander district. “Teri may use a soft voice, but she is a true leader for the School District of Rhinelander,” Pheifer stated.
The WASCD award honors a proven champion of curriculum, instruction and assessment policies and practices that enhance learning both within and outside the district.
