Eagle River man arrested for alleged possession of child porn

An Eagle River man has been arrested and charged with multiple counts of possession of child pornography and two counts of possession of a firearm by a felon. Ryan A. Frederick, 37, was arrested Aug. 6.
“Investigations involving the exploitation of children are some of the most difficult investigations conducted by agents and local law enforcement,” Attorney General Brad Schimel said in a press release issued today. He credited “Alicia’s Law” for a creating an expedited subpoena process for finding the location of suspected internet sex predators.
Wisconsin Department of Justice Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force made the arrest with assistance from the Vilas County Sheriff’s Office and Eagle River Police Department.
Frederick free on a $5,000 cash bond, under the condition he not possess firearms, possess or use a computer, or use a cell phone for internet access and is allowed no contact with anyone under age 18. He will appear in Vilas County Court Aug. 20 for an adjourned initial appearance.
