Drug take back locations, date announced

Northwoods residents can dispose of unused medications and sharps Saturday, April 28 during the statewide Drug Take Back Day. From From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., various locations throughout Oneida County will be accepting unused and expired medications.
Drug Take Back locations include:
• Rhinelander Police Department
• Three Lakes Police Department
• Minocqua Police Department
• Oneida County Solid Waste Department
New this year, local Police Departments in Oneida County will have a limited supply of free DETERRA deactivation kits for people who have medications that are in liquid or patch formulas.
Unused prescription medications should never be flushed or poured down the drain. For more information, visit DoseOfRealityWI.gov/Drug-TakeBack.
Sharps will only be accepted at the Oneida County Solid Waste Department and must be safely packaged. Contact Oneida County Health Department for more information, 715-369-6111.
