Winter season parking reminder
The calendar may say spring, but the city of Rhinelander is reminding residents and anyone who parks on city streets that the continued snowfall means winter parking regulations are still in effect.
The late-season storms can present difficulty to the Rhinelander Street Department, as snow plows need to work around parked cars to access all the road surfaces that require attention.
Normally, a seasonal parking ban is in effect throughout the city until April 1 which gets cars off the streets and the crews working the most productively during the snowy months.
However, even now that the parking ban is no longer in effect, the road crews would appreciate cooperation from residents, by parking off the street during late season storms.
A parking ban from 3-6 a.m. daily remains in effect in the downtown Rhinelander area. Cars parked on downtown streets overnight will be subject to towing even after the April 1 date that is intended for city-wide parking conditions.
