Reader supports Tim Burns for Supreme Court
Editor,
Most of us would like a supreme court that decides cases based entirely on the facts, the law, and the constitution. In theory, that’s why we have “non-partisan” elections for the court, where candidates don’t publicly pre-judge the issues.
The only trouble is that we have seen a decade now in which big-money interests have packed our supreme court with judges who will predictably decide in favor of big corporations against the rights and liberties of ordinary Americans and who have no qualms about deciding cases involving their big contributors.
On February 20, we have the opportunity to begin reversing that trend with a candidate who is letting us know where his values lie — with the people rather than the plutocrats. Vote for Tim Burns.
