BOYS SWIMMING: Hodags swamp Medford, 110-53
RHS now 3-3-1 in GNC

The Rhinelander High school boys swimming team placed first in all 11 events and added seven runner-up finishes Thursday when the Hodags won their Great Northern Conference home dual meet against Medford, 110-53.
RHS’s swimmers who were part of the winning relay teams included: Martin Hoger, Joseph Heck, Devon Gaber and Isaiah Piosalan, 200-yard medley relay (2 minutes, 1.18 seconds); Hugh Wiese, Joseph Heck, Hoger and Piosalan, 200 freestyle relay (1:57.43); and Mathew Herman, Thaddeus Heck, Russell Benoy and Wiese, 400 freestyle relay (4:31.5).
The Hodags’ individual winners included: Joseph Heck, 200 freestyle (2:07.35) and 100 butterfly (1:09.08); Thaddeus Heck, 50 freestyle (26.15) and 500 freestyle (5:47.19); Benoy, 200 individual medley (2:20.38) and 100 backstroke (1:02.97); Hoger, 100 freestyle (58.43); and David King, 100 breaststroke (1:17.08).
RHS added runner-up finishes in two of the relay events with Benoy, Thaddeus Heck, King and Jared Chizever in the 200 medley relay (2:04.54); and Chizever, Gaber, Herman and King in the 200 freestyle relay (2:00.08).
The Hodags who placed second individually included: Gaber, 100 butterfly (1:10.49) and 100 breaststroke (1:20.58); Hoger, 200 individual medley (2:31.27); Herman, 100 freestyle (1:14.31); and King, 500 freestyle (5:47.6).
RHS, which improved its conference dual meet record to 3-3-1, next competes Saturday at an invitational at Ashwaubenon.
