Obituary: Gary Z. Domaika
Gary Z. Domaika, age 73 of Tomahawk, passed away peacefully Sunday, July 30, 2017, at Benedictine Living Community in Wausau surrounded by his loving family. Gary was born Nov. 18, 1943, in Rhinelander to the late Zane and Clara (Melton) Domaika. He grew up in Rhinelander and attended school there. Gary was later married to Rose “Bunny” Slack in 1967 in Michigan; she survives.
Gary was a talented carpenter who belonged to the United Brotherhood of Carpenters Millwrights. He was an avid Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers fan. He enjoyed watching the birds from the living room window in the many feeders he had outside. He loved taking pictures of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; he felt his greatest achievement he left behind were his four beautiful children.
Survivors include his wife, Rose “Bunny” Domaika of Tomahawk; his son, Gary G. (Jamelle) Domaika of Rhinelander; three daughters, Sabrina (Michael) Cinfio of Rhinelander, Tanya Wentworth of Rhinelander, and Regina (Robert) Gagnon of L’Anse, Mich.; three brothers, Ronald (Joey) Domaika of Tomahawk, Roger (Bonnie) Domaika of Rhinelander, and Zane Domaika of Alaska; three sisters, Beverly (Arden) Buchholtz of Hartford, Sandra (Pat) Ferrel of Ill., and Joyce (Phil) Street of Tomahawk; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Russel, and a sister, Judy.
A celebration of life service for Gary will take place Thursday, Aug. 3 at the Generations Funeral Home in Tomahawk at 11 a.m. Gary’s family will receive friends for visitation Thursday from 9 a.m., until the time of services at the funeral home. (Generations Funeral Home)
