Obituary: Agnes M. Polzin
Agnes M. Polzin, 94, of Rhinelander entered eternal life on April 22, 2016. She was born on
August 29, 1921, in Rödelmaier, Germany, to Valentin and Rosa Fuchs. Agnes immigrated to
the U.S. when she was 16 years old and lived with an aunt and uncle in Chicago. It was there
she met her future husband, Erwin Polzin. Erv and Agnes were married at Zion Church in
Rhinelander on July 16, 1949. Agnes remained a member of Zion for 65 years. She was a
loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed gardening and cooking
and joyfully shared the fruits of her labor with many others.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children: Rita Webster (Rhinelander), Carol
(Miles) Holets (Duluth), Nancy (Ned) Kleinke (Bay City, MI), David Polzin (Rhinelander) and a
daughter-in-law Cindy (Bruce) Collins (Rhinelander). She is also survived by her grandchildren,
Kevin, Katherine, Kris Webster; Jonathan (Kaylyn) Holets, Kirsten (Mark) Ostermann, Sam
Kleinke, Andrew and Shane Polzin, Amanda (Adam) Bode and Jeni Polzin. She was blessed
with seven great-grandchildren: Taraji and Tatiana Holets, Connor and Charlotte Ostermann,
and Aurora, Asher, and Asa Bode.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, two sisters; one son, Robert Polzin; a
grandson, Michael Holets and two infant grandchildren, Benjamin and Katie Kleinke.
The Polzin family would like to thank Country Terrace and Hospice for their wonderful care of
Agnes. The family would also like to thank Deb Treder, the 3rd & 4th graders of Zion School
and Pastors Krahn and Schoell for their visits and cards.
God’s gift to Agnes of a strong faith in Jesus, her Savior, was evident to everyone who knew
her. She shared love and joy with all, and she will be missed.
Visitation will be at Carlson Funeral home on Tuesday, April 26, 2016, from 5 to 7 PM. Funeral
services will be held at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in Rhinelander on Wednesday, April 27 at
11:00 AM with visitation at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in.the Northland Memorial Park Cemetery.
