Obituary: David F. DeNoble
David F. DeNoble, age 82, of Rhinelander died Friday, March 18, 2016. He was born November 12, 1933, in Laona to Sylvester and Adeline (Benzinger) DeNoble.
Dave attended Crandon High School, graduating in 1950. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War from 1953 until 1956. Dave was granted a discharge from service upon the death of his father and returned to Crandon to care for his mother and sister. He joined Wisconsin Public Service as a lineman and worked for WPS in that capacity until his retirement.
Dave married Eileen Myers on March 1, 1958, in Crandon. They moved to Rhinelander shortly after their marriage where together they raised their family of three children. He was a long time member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and later Nativity of Our Lord Parish. Dave enjoyed hunting, fishing, downhill skiing, camping, and especially time spent with his family. He will be fondly remembered as a big man with a big heart.
Dave is survived by his wife, Eileen DeNoble of Rhinelander; two daughters, Val (Denny) Foley of Rhinelander, and Michele (Gary Hopp) DeNoble of Duluth, Minn.; a son, David (Amy) DeNoble of Marietta, Ga.; seven grandchildren, Joshua, Austin, Brett, Logan, McKenna, Ian, and Isaak; three great granddaughters, Carlie, Clara, and Chloe; a sister, Betty Skinner of Missouri; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Mary Lou; and three brothers, Hart, Jim, and Dick.
The funeral mass for Dave will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 29, at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church / St. Mary’s Site with Father Randy Knauf officiating. Visitation will take place from 9:30 a.m. until the time of mass on Tuesday, March 29 at the church. Inurnment will take place in Crandon Lakeside Cemetery at a later date.
