OBITUARY: ROSEMARY BUTTERFIELD
Rosemary Butterfield, age 80, of Rhinelander, died March 13, 2016, at Ministry Saint Mary’s Hospital in Rhinelander. She was born Jan. 3, 1936, in Rhinelander to Esden and Opal (Hoffhein) Fortier. She graduated from Rhinelander High School in 1954. On June 11, 1955, she married Richard Butterfield and they enjoyed 60 years of marriage. Before she became a full-time mom, Rosemary was employed by Reeve’s Foodlane. After the kids were raised, she went back to work at City Cleaners for a short period of time. Rosemary enjoyed socializing with her many friends, snowmobiling, bowling, reading, doing Sudoku puzzles and most of all, going to the casino. Rosemary is survived by her three daughters, Vicki Butterfield of Centreville, Va., Kristi Jacobsen of Panama City, Fla., and Jeanne (Patrick) Wilson of Rhinelander; her eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; her sister, Deanna Schliesmann of Holmen; nieces; nephews; other family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband on Jan. 22, 2016; her daughter, Susan Cuirro; two sisters; and four brothers. A memorial Mass for Rosemary will be held Monday, March 21, at 11 a.m. at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church-St. Mary’s Site with Fr. Kevin Farrell officiating. Interment will be in Nativity of Our Lord Parish Catholic Cemetery. (Carlson Funeral Home)
