OBITUARY: PHILIP “FAT CAT” KETTNER
Philip “Fat Cat” Kettner, age 79, died at his home in Rhinelander. He was born April 30, 1936, in Lake Forest, Ill., to Philip and Gertrude (Awe) Kettner. He served in the Army from December 1959 to March 1962. He is survived by his wife, Lois; a son, Joe (Albina) Kettner of Kentwood, Mich.; daughters Lori (Bob) Skalitzky of Crofton, Md., and Amy Malek of Rhinelander; and two grandsons. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Betty Jane. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, March 19, 2016, at 1 p.m. at Hildebrand Russ Funeral Home. Military honors will take place at the funeral home immediately following the service. Visitation will be held March 19 from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the InterACT Center of the Northwoods (for autism), 903 W.D.
