The Active Older Adult Advisory Committee and the YMCA of the Northwoods is extending an invitation to anyone 55 +years old to an open house on Thursday, January 14 from 9:00AM-12:00PM.
“It is important for seniors to stay active over the winter months when it is more difficult to walk or stay active outdoors,” said Marilyn Duschl Active Older Adult Coordinator. “The Y is the best place to maintain your activity level, learn new wellness activities and stay socially engaged.”
Guests at the open house will be given a tour of the facility by a senior member active at the Y. In addition, guests will receive a guest pass and a tote bag.
Guests may also attend senior exercise classes that are offered during the morning. The Men’s Stretching class is held at 7:30 a.m., Total Body for Seniors at 8:30 a.m. and Silversneaker Classic at 10:30 a.m. If you would like to participate in a class, dress in comfortable clothing and bring gym shoes.
Marilyn Duschl, Active Older Adult coordinator, will be on hand to talk about member benefits, additional wellness programs and SilverSneaker membership. The special January membership rates will apply. For more information contact the YMCA of the Northwoods at 715-362-9622.
