DeMet resigns from chamber position
The Rhinelander Area Chamber of Commerce will be looking for a new leader, as executive Director Dana DeMet submitted his letter of resignation, effective October 2, to the board of directors Monday afternoon. According to the press release, he has accepted the position of branch manager at Nicolet National Bank in Rhinelander.
“Nicolet National Bank has a strong commitment to the communities it serves, so I look forward to being able to continue working on many of the projects I have been involved in during my time at the Chamber of Commerce,” said DeMet.
“Dana and I have discussed his decision and I wish him nothing but the best in his new position” said Board President Brett Aylesworth. “He has served our organization very well over his time here and I am glad he has chosen to continue to live and work in the Rhinelander community.”
The Chamber of Commerce will now begin the process to fill the Executive Director position.
“The Board of Directors and the very capable staff at the Chamber will work to ensure a smooth transition and the continuation of the Chamber’s work in promoting and supporting the Rhinelander business community” Aylesworth said. “We will keep our members and the public abreast of all current information.”
“I have enjoyed my work in the Rhinelander community and with the Chamber of Commerce,” DeMet stated in his resignation letter. “This has not been an easy decision to make but ultimately the one that I feel will allow me to best continue to grow in my career and to continue to help serve the Rhinelander community.”
DeMet begins his new job October 6.
