Tomahawk woman in custody in connection to homicide
One person is in Rhinelander Police custody on charges connected with the 2003 death of Kenneth Wells. Latoya Wolf, 33, of Tomahawk is charged with being party to the crime of first degree intentional homicide. Wolf’s former husband, Shannon Wolf is also under investigation.
Wells’ deceased body was found in the Wisconsin River July 1, 2003. During the initial investigation, no leads were found and the initial autopsy showed the probable cause of death as drowning, but the manner of death was undetermined.
According to Police Chief Micheal Steffes, the case was re-opened in January, 2014. “During the course of investigating an unrelated crime, information was given that lead us to believe we could solve an old case,” he said.
The investigation is continuing. Anyone with information is urged to contact Rhinelander Police at 715-365-5300.
