Walking Up Mainstreet: Haunted Hodag Howl is around the corner
The number two American Holiday is here, Halloween. Downtown Rhinelander Inc. is big on this holiday too. If you are reading your Star Journal on Saturday you may still have time to catch the Downtown Trick or Treat that is from 2-4 p.m. Saturday. And if you want to share your artistic talents by showing off your carved pumpkins you can bring them to the greenspace in front of Trig’s from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Saturday. You’ll be entered in the voting and drawings (You can pick it up at 9 p.m.). The 2nd Annual Pumpkin Glow is something you’ll want to be a part of or simply want to see. View over 100 pumpkins lit between 5:30-9 p.m.
The other Halloween event is the “Haunted” Hodag Howl sponsored by Wisconsin Public Service which is 6:30 p.m. next Saturday, Nov. 1 at the Quality Inn. This is an Adult Costume Party for EVERYONE. You don’t have to come in costume but if you do you will receive 5 free raffle tickets. There is a DJ and dancing, games, raffles, hors de oeuvres (catered by the Rhinelander Café & Pub) and a cash bar. Ticket price is $15. AND we know you have seen them- you may have even wanted one. What am I talking about? A Hodag. This is the evening that we will be auctioning off the Large Lumberjack Hodag and five mini Hodags (The Rhinelander Hodag Sport, HoDragon, Bronze, Hodag in Bloom and Hodag School Bus Safety). The auction starts at 8 p.m. and it is your only chance to own one.
See you there!
