Concerts on the RiverWalk moves back to the bandshell
For the first time this summer, Concerts on the Riverwalk will be back at the bandshell near Trig’s in Rhinelander Wednesday, July 30, at 7 p.m. Following construction around the building, the grass has been reseeded and is now ready for an audience.
The Rhinelander Area Community Band will take the stage with a traditional roster of concert pieces, show tunes and marches. Special for this performance will be a rendition of Tchaikovsky’s “1812 Overture,” complete with a fireworks display.
Band director Dale Smith introduced the piece to the band at the beginning of the summer, and the group has been working on the challenging music for several weeks. Guest performers will be coming in to fill in the ranks.
The concert is free, but a goodwill donation will be collected. There are some benches available at the park but listeners are urged to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets. For more information, call Jan Leschke at 715-362-7157.
