Color Dash to be held Aug. 23
The Color Dash is coming to Rhinelander Saturday, Aug. 23. The event, being held at Rhinelander High School, begins at 10 a.m. with packet pickup beginning at 8 a.m. The cost is $40 per person, $35 per person for those who register as a team, or $85 per family of three people (with an additional $15 per person up to six people).
Registration is available online at www.theColorDash5k.com. Big Brothers Big Sisters is offering a special prize package to every 100th person registered. Anyone who registers on Thursday, July 31, will receive a special prize.
This event is being brought to this area by the Northwoods Branch of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwestern Wisconsin. Fifty percent of all registration fees will be donated to support mentoring relationships in the Northwoods.
The family-friendly event is designed for all ages, demographics and fitness levels. It isn’t a timed event—it’s more about sharing memories while getting splashed with color. As participants run, walk (or even crawl) the course, the Dasher-Splashers will splash them with special colorful dust.
The Color Dash is a Minnesota-based organization whose mission is to raise local money for a local cause. The Dash has benefited abuse centers, youth athletic complexes, orphanage planting, animal rescue shelters, and many more.
