Rhinelander District Library weekly events
Here are the events for this week at the Rhinelander District Library:
Science & Magic with Jim Lenz
Jim Lenz, from Green Bay will present science-based magic programs at the Rhinelander District Library Tuesday, June 17 with shows performances from 2 to 2:45 p.m. and 4 to 4:45 p.m. Jim is professional magician and science entertainer who has performed thousands of shows across the U.S., and in Canada and Asia. A free ticket is needed to attend, and are available in the Children’s Department of by calling 715-365-1070 ext. 2. These programs are sponsored by the Wisconsin Valley Library Service.
Magic Shows
Cliff the Magic Man, will put on three shows in the Rhinelander District Library meeting room Wednesday, June 18 at 1 p.m., 3 p.m., and 6 p.m. The shows will run approximately 30 to 40 minutes. Local magician Cliff Zimbler’s many tricks and illusions are for the whole family. Space is limited so a free ticket is required for these events and can be obtained by stopping by the Children’s Department or by calling 715-365-1070 ext. 3. These programs are made possible through funds provided by the Northwood’s Lion’s Club. Also, the Northwood’s Lion’s Club food wagon will be set up in the library parking lot this day from 10:30 a.m. until late afternoon. All proceeds from their sales will go to the Children’s Department for programming support.
Preschool Programs
Two programs for preschoolers are scheduled at the Rhinelander District Library Thursday, June 19. A 20-minute Parent/Tot Time program for children age 2 to 3½ who are accompanied by an adult begins at 10 a.m. in the Children’s Department.
A 40-minute Story Time program for children age 3½ to 6 is scheduled for 10 a.m. in the library meeting room. At the completion of the programs, caregivers and children from both groups will gather together to do a simple craft.
Music with Tom Pease
The whole family is invited to join award winning children musician Tom Pease at the Rhinelander District Library Tuesday, June 24. There will be a 45 minute morning show at 11 a.m. and an afternoon one at 2 p.m. Tom’s performance features movement and humor. A free ticket is required is required to attend and can be obtained by stopping by the Children’s Department or by calling 715-365-1070 ext. 2. This program is sponsored by the Northern Arts Council.
Juggling with the Loon
Madison juggler and plate spinner Truly Remarkable Loon will be performing Thursday, July 26 from 2 to 2:45 p.m. at the Nicolet College LRC Theater. The Loon can juggle and balance just about anything. Admission is free. This program is sponsored by the Northern Arts Council and the Rhinelander District Library.
