Questionable: What happened to plans for a dog park in Rhinelander?
Whatever happened to the plans to open a dog park in Rhinelander? I remember there were donation jugs around town that I donated to. Is the money still going to be used to open a dog park?

We asked Tina Werres, who was in charge of this project in the beginning. She responded:
“Thank you for asking about the Shepard Dog Park Project. I very much tried to establish this facility for the citizens and dogs of the area, however the rebuilding of the waste water treatment plant caused delay and brought change to the layout of Shepard Park. During the same time period, I got busy with the Oneida County Fair and there was no one willing to take over the dog park project, so it has been on hold and collection jars have been pulled back and all donations are being held in the city treasury. There is just over $2,000 in the fund and plans would need to be redrawn for the layout using that park the way it is now. I still believe in the project and would help anyone interested in taking over or helping with the restart. Because time has passed, we would need to go back to the city with a new proposal and see what could happen. Anyone interested could call me at 715-499-3002. I really don’t know what else to do with the money and old plans, and am open to ideas.”
