Obituary: Kirsten (Chris) Bennett
Kirsten (Chris) Bennett, 47, died May 10 at her home in Rhinelander after a courageous fight against cancer in the company of those who loved her. She was born in Milwaukee May 31, 1967 to Charles and Patricia (Carey) Bennett. She grew up in Fort Collins, Colo., moving back to northern Wisconsin in 1991. She loved everything Harley Davidson, and black and white cows. One of her most cherished possessions was her Jeep Grand Cherokee. She also loved to read and once wrote poetry. She described herself as mechanically inclined and someone who loved to putter with her vehicles and home. She was also proud of being a hard worker who took pride in her work. She loved animals and had an open heart for almost everyone. She was intelligent, loving, caring, generous and incredibly independent. Her smile could light up a room and she had a great sense of humor. She is survived by her mother; her brother, Erik Bennett of Bellvue, Colo.; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father; her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William Carey, and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Bennett. A Celebration of Life will be held at St. Germain Evangelical Free Church in St. Germain May 18 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Josh Reese officiating. Family and friends are encouraged to share a favorite story or memory in her memory book after the service.
