Animal of the Week
This coyote was admitted as a one-week-old orphan April 21, 2013. Her mom had been carrying her to a new den location but dropped her after people got too close in an attempt to get a better look at this natural behavior. She was successfully raised and released back into the wild Sept. 24.
Watching wildlife is a wonderful activity from which we can learn a great deal and teach our children many things. Please consider the consequences of your actions when engaging in this rewarding activity.
Doing so at a distance can ensure the behavior you’re watching is natural and your presence will not interfere with or break up families.
Wild Instincts may be reached for injured and orphaned wildlife emergencies 24 hours a day, seven days a week, at 715-362-WILD (9453).
