Laurie Oungst receives State Hospital Administrator Award
Each year, a hospital administrator is selected to receive the Partners of Wisconsin Hospital Association (P-WHA) “Best of the Best” award. This year, Laurie Oungst, Ministry Health Care northern region vice president of operations, was honored at the P-WHA State Convention held in Wisconsin Dells Oct. 9.
The “Best of the Best Hospital Administrator” award recognizes hospital and medical center leaders who demonstrate a cooperative, supportive, enthusiastic, and well-defined relationship with their volunteer organizations. The Auxiliary – Partners, Ministry Eagle River Memorial Hospital, nominated Oungst for her service to the hospital.
“We’re honored the committee selected Laurie as she has always been very supportive of the auxiliary,” Peggie Lambert, president, Auxiliary-Partners, Ministry Eagle River Memorial Hospital said. “We felt her leadership within Ministry Health Care and her dedication to supporting the Partners was deserving of the nomination.”
Laurie Oungst currently serves as the regional vice president of operations for Ministry Health Care’s Northern Region hospitals, including Ministry Eagle River Memorial Hospital (Eagle River), Howard Young Medical Center (Woodruff), Ministry Sacred Heart Hospital (Tomahawk) and Ministry Saint Mary’s Hospital (Rhinelander).
“I have had the pleasure of working with our volunteers for a number of years and I continue to be inspired by their dedication to serving others. I am honored by their nomination,” Oungst said.
“The Best of the Best committee was impressed with Laurie’s support of Ministry Partners both internally and externally, professionally and personally,” Best of the Best committee chairperson, Julie Steiner, said.
