Fifth annual Scrap-Out Cancer scheduled for Oct. 25
The fifth annual Scrap-Out Cancer Event is taking place Friday, Oct. 25, from 5 to 9 p.m. at Ministry Saint Mary’s Hospital in Rhinelander. This event brings people together to scrapbook and raise awareness of maintaining women’s health and treating breast cancer.
The public is invited to join staff from the James Beck Cancer Center and others for this free evening of scrapbooking, card-making and education. Those planning to participate are asked to bring their own projects, tools and papers. Tables will be set up around the fireplace, overlooking the wooded area and pond at Ministry Saint Mary’s. Scrapbooking tips and techniques will be demonstrated and shared with participants.
Throughout the night, important information on women’s health tips will be provided, with a focus on genetics and women’s cancer risk, including a risk assessment quiz for participants to take. Door prizes will be given away approximately every 20 minutes, and all registered attendees will receive a goody bag.
Check-in begins at 4:30 p.m. Arrive anytime between 4:30 and 5 p.m. to settle in and start working on card-making or scrapbooking projects. After the speaker, beverages, sandwiches and snacks will be provided throughout the night while those attending scrapbook and have fun with other participants.
