Second installment of property tax bills due July 31
The second installment of the 2012 Oneida and Vilas county property tax bills is due by July 31, 2013. Due to limited parking and long waiting lines, mailing tax payments is recommended for both counties.
Oneida County payments may be mailed to: Oneida County Treasurer, P.O. Box 400, Rhinelander, WI 54501. Payments in person may be made at the county treasurer’s office on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Oneida County Treasurer’s office is located on the first floor on the Dahl Street side of the Oneida County Courthouse in Rhinelander. For after-hours payments, by check only, use the drop box located on the Dahl Street side of the courthouse. Tax payments received with a postmark after July 31 will accrue an additional 10.5 percent penalty and interest charge for late payment. Penalty and interest will continue to accrue at a rate of 1.5 percent per month until the bill is paid in full. Oneida County payments may also be made at any U.S. Bank in Minocqua, Associated Bank in Minocqua and Rhinelander and First National Bank branches in St. Germain and Three Lakes. Bank staff will only collect those payments presented with a tax payment stub and exact payment amount.
Oneida County payment by credit card or electronic check may be made through Point and Pay by calling (888) 891-6064, option 1; or log on to co.oneida.wi.gov, click on departments, treasurer, pay second installment or delinquent tax payments online. Those paying will also need their tax bill number. Be aware that Point and Pay will charge a convenience fee for using their services.
Vilas County payments may be mailed to Vilas County Treasurer, 330 Court Street, Eagle River, WI 54521. The treasurer’s office is located on the first floor of the Vilas County Courthouse in Eagle River. The Vilas County Treasurer’s office is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Payments postmarked after July 31 will receive an interest charge of 7 percent. Interest will continue to accrue at a rate of 1 percent per month until the bill is paid in full. Vilas County payments may also be made at the following financial Institutions located in the city of Eagle River: Associated Bank, First National Bank, Peoples State Bank, River Valley Bank. Bank staff will only collect those payments presented with a tax payment stub and exact payment amount.
Vilas County: Payment by credit card may be made through Point and Pay by calling (866) 518-2304 or atco.vilas.wi.us. Point and Pay will charge an additional 2.39 percent convenience fee for credit cards, $3.95 for Visa debit card and $1.50 for electronic check transfers.
