Obituary: Jerome “Zeke” Kennedy
Jerome “Zeke” David Kennedy, 54, of Rhinelander, died on April 19, 2013 in St Louis, Mo. He was born April 30, 1958 in Rhinelander to Robert and Marion (Russell) Kennedy.
Zeke is survived by his wife, Dawn of St. Louis, Mo.; children Michael Bishop of Madison, Megan (Douglas) Bressler, Jared (Annette) Kennedy and Paige Kennedy; grandsons Dresden and Emerson Bressler of Oklahoma City, Okla.; brothers, Joseph (Shelbra), Jeff, Jim (Cindy) and Jay (Kathee); sisters Julie (Doug) Bettinger and Judy (Tim) Shepherd, both of Rhinelander; mothers-in-law Sandra Ferrell of Wauconda, Ill. and Carol Pratz of Sugar Camp; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers John and Jed; father-in-law Peter Pratz; and nephew David Eternicka Jr.
Zeke was a chef and owned and operated his own restaurant, Kennedy’s Sugar Mill in Sugar Camp. He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed the outdoors.
A memorial celebration will be held on May 4 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Sammy Jr’s in Rhinelander. In lieu of flowers, donations in Zeke’s honor can be made to the C.A.R.E Center of Oklahoma (carecenter-okc.org).
