Letter: ?Harry James? by Robert Klima
Editor:
I’m hoping that the following will be accepted, as intended, as not only constructive but humorous.
To many of you reading this, the name Harry James will have no meaning whatsoever. However, in the era of the “big bands,” his band was very popular. So, what’s my point? After reading of the pending referendum, plus many of the long and tedious offerings in the “Viewpoint” section by proponents, I recalled one of the songs of that era that he made popular. It was titled “It Seems To Me I’ve Heard That Song Before.”
Having stated that, I would also like to offer an old adage relating to living within one’s budget which goes “You can’t drink Champagne–when all you earn is beer money.” I believe that both of the aforementioned are applicable to the current school districts problems and honestly doubt if passing another referendum will offer a viable solution.
Very truly yours,
Robert J. Klima, Rhinelander
