Ecklund joins Marshfield Clinic
Marshfield Clinic Minocqua Center welcomes nurse practitioner Connie Ecklund to the pain management department.
She joins Drs. Michelle Bensen, Mike Larson and Thomas Simpson, as well as fellow nurse practitioner Ann Robl-Jackson, to provide comprehensive pain management services for people in northern Wisconsin.
Originally from Merrill, Ecklund earned her bachelor’s in nursing from Creighton University in Omaha, Neb., and her master’s as a pediatric nurse practitioner from the University of Wisconsin in Madison.
Ecklund is certified in pain management and as an advanced practice nurse prescriber. She previously worked in pain management in the Wausau area, and in the physical medicine department at Marshfield Clinic Marshfield Center.
The pain management team at the Minocqua Center assesses all facets of its patients’ physical, emotional and functional status throughout their visits. The team’s goal is to determine the underlying cause of pain so it can be effectively treated to improve patients’ quality of life.
Medication monitoring also is an essential component of pain management.
Ecklund said she joined the Minocqua Center’s Pain Management Department because it offers her the chance to be part of a skilled team in one of the most beautiful parts of Wisconsin. She and her husband enjoy the outdoors and regularly have visited Minocqua.
“We are very happy to welcome Connie Ecklund to our team,” said Kelly Rydeski, Manager of the Marshfield Clinic Minocqua Center Pain Management Department. “She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience that will help our patients greatly.”
