Letter: Obama deserves another term by Richard Laddusire
Editor:
I would like to thank President Obama for his service and leadership over the past four years. Yes, he had been the leader of our country, and has done a good job.
How do I know this? Well, the DOW is now over 13,000 when it was 9000 when he took office. The Affordable Health Care Act (Obamacare) was passed and upheld by the Supreme Court. Companies have trillions of dollars in their pockets. The war in Iraq is over, and the war in Afghanistan is winding down for the Americans. During the past 4 years, Osama bin Laden was killed, as well as dozens of other terrorists. Jobs are being created rather than lost, as was the case during the last years of the Bush administration. The American auto industry is the strongest in years.
President Obama has spent money at home to fund his job stimulus projects to put Americans back to work. Right here in the Northwoods, Rhinelander received $15 million for a new sewer system, $2 million from USDA Rural Development, $4,498 for emergency food and shelter programs, grants to local fire departments for equipment, over a million dollar subsidy to Frontier Airlines to continue flying into Rhinelander, and funding numerous extensions of unemployment benefits.
The country is still struggling to cope with the $10 trillion dollars in debt left from previous Republican administrations. That is a hole that would have swallowed lessor men, but President Obama has carried through by putting people first. He deserves four more years to continue his work.
Richard Laddusire, Rhinelander
