Obituary: Lonny L. Crass
Lonny L. Crass Sr., 64, of Rhinelander, passed away Aug. 5, 2012. He was born on Aug. 7, 1947, in Tomahawk, to Virginia Ahles.
He was adopted and raised by his grandparents, Louis and Gertrude Crass of Irma. Lonny graduated from Tomahawk High School in 1965. He was a member of the Tomahawk-Merrill National Guard. He married his wife, Bev, in 1968, and they moved to Rhinelander shortly after. Lonny enjoyed traveling, cooking, wood-working, hunting, fishing and the outdoors. He also enjoyed bird watching and catnapping with his beloved pets, Summer and Sara.
Lonny is survived by his wife Bev; son Lonny (Kristin) Crass Jr. of Stevens Point; and daughter, Jacqueline Crass of Wausau; grandson Jordan; brothers, James Crass (Lorraine) of Irma, Roger Crass (Marge) of West Bend, Michael Ahles (Tammy) of Harshaw, Kevin Ahles (Carol) of Tomahawk; and sister, Nancy Ahles (Ken) of Las Vegas, Nev. He was preceded by his mother, Virginia Ahles; adoptive parents, Louis and Gertrude Crass; brother Melvin; and sisters Evelyn and Shirley.
A private family gathering will be held for Lonny at a later date.
