Pop-up storm in Rhinelander July 6 alarms citizens
A “pop-up” type thunderstorm rolled through Rhinelander Friday afternoon, July 6, bringing with it dark, swirling clouds that were very visible over Boom Lake in Rhinelander, alarming many in the area of potential tornado activity.
Although tornado sirens went off around the city, and many of the clouds witnessed over Boom Lake resembled funnel clouds, none actually touched down.
