Obituary: Donald Quade
Donald Quade, 76, or Rhinelander, died July 6, 2012, at Aspirus Hospital in Wausau with his loving family by his side. He was born Aug. 5, 1935, in Rhinelander, to Carl and Pauline (Mills) Quade.
Don attended schools in Rhinelander and graduated from Rhinelander High School in 1953. He joined the U.S. Army in 1954, where he served for 2 years and left with an honorable discharge. Don married the love of his life, Ruth Reiher, in 1958 in Beaver Dam. They lived in the Milwaukee area until 1973, when they moved their family to Rhinelander. They moved into Don’s childhood home on Lake George and raised their family. Don worked as a Pressroom Foreman at the Journal/Sentinel in Milwaukee, retiring in 1992. He also worked for Wisconsin Water Treatment Corporation, eventually buying the business. He continued to run the company until the time of his death. Don was known for his hard work and tireless dedication to his company. He enjoyed time spent with family. Don was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed. He loved gathering for a family meal or meeting friends at the local diners. He was an avid outdoorsman. He looked forward to his trips to Colorado elk hunting, and most especially going to his cabin in Canada. Don enjoyed many fishing trips there with friends and family.
Don is survived by his wife, Ruth and his children, Steven (Terry), Susan (Steven) Hansen, Michael (Patti) and Jennifer (Michael) White and his grandchildren; Michelle (John) Schnoor, Brain Quade, Amy (Chris) Tift, Lisa Hansen, Matthew, Benjamin and Bradley Quade and Karen White.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at 11 a.m., at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor Norman Peterson officiating. Visitation will be at 10:00 A.M. at the church.
