Explore an Auto Technician career at Nicolet College Open House July 10
Anyone interested in exploring a career as an Automotive Technician is invited to attend an Open House in Nicolet College’s Auto Lab from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 10, on the Nicolet Campus just south of Rhinelander.
Prospective students will have the opportunity to tour the recently remodeled, state-of-the-art lab, learn about the courses included in the one-year diploma program, and the job prospects after graduation.
“The Open House will also be a great chance for people to meet our two new Auto instructors,” said Brigitte Parsons, dean of Trade and Industry at Nicolet. “Both have extensive experience and are experts in the automotive field.”
Ken Duesing comes to Nicolet with 24 years of experience in the field. He’s earned numerous high-level certifications over the years, is an ASE Master Technician, and has received GM World Class Certification. He’s a graduate of the Automotive program at Wyoming Technical Institute.
Chris Kolasa has more than 20 years of experience in the automotive industry. For the past 9 years he’s taught Automotive Technology at Western Technical College, serving as the Program Head since 2010. Kolasa has several specialty certifications, including ASE Master Technician and ASE L1 Advanced Engine Performance. He’s a graduate of Northcentral Technical College and the University of Wisconsin – Stout, where he received a bachelor’s degree in Career, Technical, Education, and Training.
At the Open House information will be available on financial aid, scholarships, and the wide variety of support services Nicolet offers to help students succeed. Refreshments will be served.
Those interested in attending the event can drop by anytime between 4:30 and 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 10. The Auto lab and classrooms are on the ground floor of the Art Tech Center. The Nicolet Campus is located one mile south of Rhinelander just off of Hwy. G.
