Obituary: Eugene F. Seidler
Eugene F. Seidler, 82, of Rhinelander, passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2012, at his home. He was born on Sept. 28, 1929, in Wausau, to Walter and Ruth (Wentland) Seidler.
Gene married Grace Kellbach on Jan. 8, 1949, in Wausau, and together they raised their family of nine children. He was employed as a surveyor with the Wisconsin Highway Commission and was a project engineer for Donahue Construction. In 1963, Gene and Grace moved to their farm in the Town of Crescent, where they raised beef cattle. Gene also served as the Assessor for the Town of Crescent for a number of years. He was be fondly remembered as a loving and generous husband, father and grandfather.
Gene is survived by his wife, Grace Seidler of Rhinelander; five daughters, Susan (Martin) Heeren of Tomahawk, Dorothy (Milton) Esco, Carol Seidler, and Cindy Seidler all of Wausau, and Virginia Ruckheim of Rhinelander; three sons, Ronald Seidler of Rhinelander, Jim (Diane) Seidler of Shiocton, and Dale Seidler of Rice Lake; 13 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and a sister, Janet Minter of Mosinee. He was preceded by his parents; a daughter, Sheree Pell; a grandson, Charles St. Germaine; son-in-law, Walter Ruckheim; and a brother, Donald Seidler.
A celebration of Gene’s life will be held at a later date.
