Lois Grunst
Lois Grunst, 84, of Rhinelander, died on May 7, 2012, in Rhinelander. She was born on Dec. 7, 1927, in Rhinelander, to Erwin and Bernice (Perrot) Mackay.
Her family moved to Matoon and then back to Rhinelander where she then graduated from the Rhinelander High School in 1946. She married Harold Grunst on August 30, 1946, and he preceded her in death on May 28, 2008. Lois had worked at a couple of different business in downtown Rhinelander. She then returned to school later in life and then was employed by the Nicolet College for 16 years as an administrative assistant. Lois was a longtime member of the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church and earlier in life was a member of the Ladies Aid and Guild. She enjoyed photography and had her own studio years ago. Lois had alot of other interests which included playing the piano and violin, reading, drawing, and anything outside, especially panfishing.
She is survived by her daughter Sidney (David) Clark of Birnamwood; her son, Daniel Grunst of Rhinelander; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Reeve Mackay.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 11, at 11 a.m., at the Carlson Funeral Home with the Reverend Matthew Schoell officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m until just prior to the services on Friday, May 11, at the Carlson Funeral Home.
