Minocqua Center welcomes urgent care doctor
The Marshfield Clinic Minocqua Center Urgent Care Department welcomes Dr. Gary Zimbric. He joins Drs. Kurt Landauer, Bill Melms and James Wiesner, as well as physician assistants John Langer and Abby Mallek-Karch in providing convenient and comprehensive care.
Zimbric comes to Minocqua after many years in the Wausau area. He was the East Division medical director for Marshfield Clinic since 2006, as well as medical director for the North Division since April 2010. He’s an emergency medicine physician with nearly 30 years of experience in multi-specialty group practice, hospital and emergency medical practice roles.
“I’m delighted to join this outstanding group of health care professionals, and appreciate their focus on meeting the needs of their patients by working together as a collaborative team,” Zimbric said.
During his tenure in the Wausau area, Zimbric was responsible for coordinating projects related to development of the Weston Regional Medical Center, including the Clinic’s Weston Center and Diagnostic & Treatment Center. He was a medical director and urgent care physician at Wausau Medical Center prior to that practice joining the Marshfield Clinic system. He also has served in the Emergency Department of Good Samaritan Health Center, Merrill; an emergency physician and chief of staff at Wausau Hospital; and a physician in the Emergency Department at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.
He received his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin Medical School, completed a residency in internal medicine at La Crosse Lutheran Hospital and earned a master’s degree in medical administration from UW-Madison, with a focus on health care systems development.
