Business Close-Up: Driven by experience
Vehicle breakdowns can create a lot of inconveniences, but Kathy Holewinski and her hard working crew at R&K Repair in Rhinelander strive hard to make those headaches as unobtrusive as possible.
Rick Martiny and Mike Mikkelson are the certified ASE technicians at R&K. Mike has 20 years in the engine repair field and Rick has over 30 years of experience under the hood. With a total of more than 50 years experience between them, diagnosing engine troubles and then being able to fix them make this shop a good choice when mechanical problems rear their ugly head.
This pair can repair a wide variety of engine difficulties in light trucks, and domestic or imported makes and models. Brakes, transmissions, air conditioners, alignments and belts, are just a few of the areas of expertise for these technicians. In addition fuel injection cleaning is also offered and air conditioner repair.
Maintenance is so important in keeping a vehicle in good running order. Services such as oil changes, tire pressure checking, fluid refilling, shock testing, hose inspection and tune ups in general are all provided at R&K. Rick and Mike have also been trained with several diagnostic tools so troubleshooting a problem is easier and thorough.
At R&K tires are also sold and installed. New tire orders can be received in about a day, but this shop also stocks a large supply of good quality used tires, which Rick and Mike are more than happy to install on any vehicle.
These two talented mechanics can also repair a wide variety of “toys.” Snowmobiles, motorcycles and even lawnmowers are not out of their realm. In addition, trailers are also a specialty. Hitches, winches, bearing repacking and lights are no problem on any kind of a trailer whether that’s to haul a boat, a car or snowmobiles. “We can pretty much do it all here,” said Kathy.
R&K Repair is located at 4475 Hwy. 17 N. in Rhinelander. The hours are Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
