The Kindergarten Classes from Crescent Elementary School would like to thank the Crescent Lake Impact Center for a fun-filled day exploring and team building! We also want to thank the Pine Lake Volunteer Fire Department for coming to visit us the last week of school. We learned so much and really enjoyed the hats and coloring books!
James Williams Middle School science teachers and students would like to thank the following professionals and businesses/organizations for teaching our science students about their Rhinelander area science careers. Each individual/group listed below came in on an earlier release school day to perform a total of seven presentations to all 7th and 8th grade science students: Larry Bergum, Northern Highland AHEC consultant; Aaron Swaney, Jim Plautz, John Wiegel, Kurt Metz, A.J. Larson, EMT/paramedic/firefighters for the Rhinelander Fire Department; Tom Trochlil, paper development scientist at Wausau Paper Mill; Matt Benz, Melissa Constanzer, Ryan Micheals, meteorologists at WJFW- Channel 12; Eric Prom, certified athletic trainer for Ministry Medical Center; Manny Oradei, forester for the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources; Bryan Bowen, UW superintendent of the potato breeding program at the Rhinelander station; Thomas Nelson, regional pavements, soils and materials engineer for the Wisconsin Department of Transportation. Our students are now more prepared and understand how science can be important to their future educational classes. We were able to take your information and apply it to concepts students learned in our classes throughout the year. Your presentations were very informative and extremely beneficial.
The students at Crescent Elementary School would like to thank Walmart and Plum Creek Timber Resources for their donation of trees. We will do our part to make our Northwoods a little greener!
