Hockey tournaments in Manitowish Waters

North Lakeland Bucks Hockey is sponsoring the Youth Hockey Winter Classic Jan. 5 and 6 and the Pee Wee Winter Classic Jan. 12 and 13 at the North Lakeland Ice Hockey Rink in Manitowish Waters, located behind the North Lakeland Elementary School on Ctys. K and P.

Eight teams will participate in the two weekend event. The teams are from Rhinelander,

Ironwood, Manitowoc, Wausau, Tomahawk, Lakeland in Minocqua, North Lakeland Bucks and Merrill.

The tournaments will be held Saturday, Jan. 5 and 12, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday, Jan. 6 and 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Full concessions, including brats, hamburgers, soups, chili, hot chocolate, tacos and more will be available in the LJ warming hut. There will be raffles, T-shirt and sweatshirt sales,  and a grand prize drawing for an iPad. Admission is free; donations are appreciated.
