The Star Journal is a Sunday newspaper with an audited, weekly distribution of approximately 16,000, primarily home delivered copies.

The paper is circulated in the Rhinelander area of northeast Wisconsin in the counties of Oneida, Vilas, Forest and Lincoln, including the communities of Rhinelander, Tomahawk, Minocqua, Crandon, Pelican Lake and Three Lakes.

Established in 1977 as “The Our Town”, the paper became the Star Journal in 2004.

The 2011 audit of circulation and readership, conducted by the Circulation Verification Council, St. Louis, MO., indicated a 6.9% increase in readership, attaining an all time high.
