Wisconsin Nordic Ski League State Championships this weekend
More than 400 skiers and their families will travel to Rhinelander to participate in the Wisconsin Nordic Ski League State Championships at the Northwood ski trails.
The Northwoods Nordic Ski Club is hosting the races, which will bring 22 Nordic ski middle school and high school teams to Rhinelander for two days of races. On Saturday, Feb. 9, the classic ski races will begin at 10 a.m. On Sunday, Feb. 10, the event is a freestyle pursuit race beginning at 9 a.m.
The races are made possible by the support of Platinum Sponsor Ministry Health Care, Gold Sponsor Aspirus Rhinelander Clinic and other sponsors including Wisconsin Public Service, New Moon Ski and Bike Shop, Associated Bank, Hammer Nutrition, Mel’s Trading Post and many others.
According to race director Ron Teclaw, excellent race conditions are assured. Spectators are welcome to attend the event.
