Convicted sex offender to be released from prison

Nov. 30, 2012 | 0 comments

In accordance with Wisconsin State Statute 301.46(2m), the Rhinelander Police Department has released the following information on Jason L. Mullen. Mullen, convicted in Oneida County on July 20, 2011, of third degree sexual assault, will be released from prison on Dec. 4, 2012. He will be returning to the community and placed under supervision administered by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections. The Rhinelander Police Department emphasizes that he is not wanted by the police at this time.

Mullen was convicted after he broke a basement window and entered the residence of a 15-year-old female acquaintance. He told the victim he had a knife and sexually assaulted her. It was later determined no weapon was involved.

Mullen is to be released to community supervision and supervised by agents from the Wisconsin Department of Corrections-Probation and Parole Office in Rhinelander. Mullen will be under supervision with the Wisconsin Department of Corrections until Dec. 7, 2016.

Upon release, he will be placed on the Intensive Supervision Program and will be subject to the Wisconsin Department of Corrections Electronic Monitoring Program (EMP). Mullen will be required to register with the Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry Program until Dec. 7, 2031. The Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry is online at widocoffenders.org.
