Obituary: Arthur F. Claflin

Arthur F. Claflin, 88, of Rhinelander died Friday, Feb 1, 2013 at Milestone Senior Living in Eagle River. He was born on June 10, 1924 to Forest and Sylvia Claflin in Beloit. He is survived by sons, Kenneth (Jeanne) Claflin of Rhinelander, Alan (Billie) Claflin of Sheridan, Wash. and James (Marlene) Claflin of Roberts, Mont.; daughter Gail (John) Michael of Longmont, Colo.; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Janet and son Jeffrey. Arthur served as a Gunners Mate aboard the USS Dextrous (AM 341) in WWII. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Memorial services will be held Friday, June 14 at 11:30 a.m. at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rhinelander. A memorial is being established in Arthur’s name for Immanuel.
