Obituary: Walter R. Sorenson

Walter “Walt” R. Sorenson, 91, of Rhinelander, died on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013 at Manor Care West in Green Bay. He was born on July 10, 1921 in Winchester to Chris Sorenson and Martha Rudd. He is survived two daughters, Georgeann (John) Vanderheiden of Green Bay and Sandra (James) Coppernoll of Appleton; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Delores. Mr. Sorenson served as a tech sergeant in WWII and was employed as an electrician and a maintenance planner for Rhinelander Paper Company until retirement. Memorial services will be held Feb. 1 at 1 p.m. at Hildebrand-Russ Funeral Home, with visitation beginning at 11 a.m. until the time of service. (Hildebrand-Russ Funeral Home)
